Camila Dias

Camila Sousa Dias Alves is an accountant, entrepreneur, author and Brazilian immigrant with more than 15 years of experience in accounting, tax and business management. Born in Pernambuco, she built her professional career in Brazil before deciding to cross borders and start again in the United States.

She graduated in Accounting Sciences in Brazil, with a specialization in Business Management, and began working while still in college. Over the years, she gained experience in accounting firms, higher education institutions and companies in different sectors, working in accounting, taxation, controllership, financial analysis and business management.

In recognition of her career and professional contribution to accounting, she received the title of Dama Comendadora from the Chamber of Art and Culture of Rio de Janeiro, in the field of Accounting, an honor that reinforces her commitment to the profession and to using accounting knowledge as an instrument of development and transformation.

Her story with the United States began to take shape in 2016 when, after a trip to the country, she decided to invest in learning English and expanding her professional horizons. What started as a personal challenge became the beginning of a much larger transformation. As happens with thousands of immigrants, starting again meant learning again: a new language, a new culture, a new tax and business system and the challenge of rebuilding a professional path in another country.

Camila did not leave behind the experience she had built in Brazil. On the contrary, she used it as the foundation for a new path. In the United States, she deepened her knowledge of the American accounting and tax system, gained professional experience in the field and turned her adaptation process into a specialization.

After years working in the accounting sector in the United States, she became the founder of JC7 Accounting Services, through which she serves individuals, business owners, investors and immigrants who need to understand and meet their accounting, tax and business obligations in the country. Her work includes tax planning, accounting, payroll, preparation of individual and corporate tax returns, company formation and structuring in different American states and tax guidance for Brazilians who invest or do business in the United States.

More than delivering accounting services, Camila found in her profession a way to make other immigrants' journeys easier. Having personally lived the challenges of adapting to a new country, she understands that many difficulties faced by those who arrive in the United States are not related to a lack of ability, experience or willingness to build a business, but often to a lack of knowledge about the rules, obligations and opportunities of the new environment. That is where her experience meets its purpose: turning complex information into accessible knowledge, helping immigrants make safer decisions, structure their businesses correctly and build a sustainable financial and business life in the United States.

This commitment to education and to strengthening the Brazilian community in the United States also led her to writing. She is the author of the book Como Abrir uma Empresa nos EUA, created to make information about entrepreneurship and company formation in the country more accessible, and she has academic publications in Accounting and Business Management, consolidating writing, education and knowledge sharing as extensions of her professional work.

Today, through accounting, entrepreneurship, education and writing, Camila works so that other Brazilians and immigrants have access to the information they need to turn dreams into projects, projects into businesses and businesses into sustainable paths of growth in the United States.
